Captain - ‘Skitchy’ Scott Barnes – Meet Hakuna Matata’s Captain

Fishing is in Captain Skitchy Barnes’ blood as he and his family have been fishing the beautiful waters of Bermuda for over 3 generations. He is an experienced fisherman starting his career on Vitamin Sea, Hakuna Matata’s commercial sister boat.

 

He has been Captain of Hakuna Matata Charters for over 8 years and takes great pride in providing each customer the best experience whether that being a fishing charter or a cruising charter. He is a hands on captain providing instructions and guidance to all levels of experience, helping people reel in big game such as Tuna, Wahoo and even Marlin.

 

With Captain Barnes’ oversight Hakuna Matata has placed 1st overall in the Bacardi Fishing Challenge in 2015 and 2021 and 2nd place overall 6 times, winning our class 7 times. Captain Michael Barnes – Meet Hakuna Matata’s First Mate

Michael has over 50 years of charter fishing experience and took over the family fishing business at 16 years old.

 

He is the owner and operator of Vitamin Sea, which is one of the top commercial fishing businesses in Bermuda, selling fish to local restaurants, grocery stores and if you are lucky – you’ll get the personal experience on Friday’s where you can buy it directly from his Fish shop.

 

Michael grew up fishing the waters of Bermuda and from his vast knowledge and experience can provide you with the true Bermudian fishing experience. Not too many Bermuda fishermen have more knowledge & experience of fishing Bermuda waters then Capt Michael.
